Overview
I created a personal passion project that captures the indescribable feeling of traveling—the moment when all expectations dissolve, and you experience something completely new. My goal was to showcase that travel isn't just about visiting famous landmarks; it's about the people you meet along the way. These connections shape how you see the world and yourself, leaving a lasting impact far beyond the journey.
Challenges & Approach
As a one-person crew, I embraced a run-and-gun, guerrilla-style approach to filming. Many strangers were understandably uncomfortable being on camera, but I took the time to connect with them and ask for their permission. This allowed me to form meaningful bonds and hear stories that remain ingrained in my memory.
Through this project, I wanted to explore how travel can break us out of our routines and provide fresh perspectives, reminding us to appreciate the gratitude we sometimes overlook at home. Seeing life through the eyes of people in different cultures—especially in developing countries—offers a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and how much we can learn from one another. This project was my way of expressing that transformative experience.
