Overview
Inspired by Christopher Nolan's Tenet, Tom Jauncey directed a remake called INVERSE. The short film followed the protagonist, Snake, as he reversed time to retrieve the vaccine while soldiers chased him. Using cinematography, FPV cinewhoop drone footage, and VFX, we replicated the feel of Tenet, with the location matching its intense vibe.
Challenges & Approach
My role included filming, editing, creating the BTS video, designing the thumbnail, and handling visual effects. To create the illusion of time reversal, I used bullet-time slow motion and visual effects. We also worked with New York's top parkour athletes, which brought an extra level of excitement to the action. This was my first ever big project I worked on as a 13 year old.
Here’s the backstory... Initially, I was just brought on as the Behind the Scenes iPhone shooter. But after the shoot, I couldn’t help myself—I started creating little videos and photos and shared them with the director. I wanted to contribute in any way I could. I asked if I could edit the behind-the-scenes video for free, just to gain experience and work alongside him. That decision ended up being a game-changer, and to this day, I’m still working with his production company.
